The Yates are as warm and welcoming as they are tightly knit. A family that thrives on artistic expression, their matriarch grew up in Southern California where she discovered a talent for design and a flair for interior décor. Her eldest daughter and business partner, Casey, has an artistic eye that extends from canvas to the camera. It’s only fitting that Summerland Co. is the product of a long-simmering dream.

The dream was realized February of 2019 when they sought to stock their eclectic home décor and general store with goods you can’t find anywhere else in San Luis Obispo. Even better, they stand by every last product. Virtually every discovery you make at Summerland Co., the Yates use in their own homes. Even items from the children’s section that Kelly’s younger daughter, Jessey, uses in her classroom.
